Liverpool are building a very strong Dutch contingent of players under Arne Slot.

Indeed, Virgil van Dijk is the club captain and arguably the Reds’ most important player.

Ryan Gravenberch was massively improved last season and he cemented himself as a key star at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo remains a key player for Liverpool and Jeremie Frimpong has just signed for the Reds.

More Dutch arrivals have been linked to Liverpool and Jorrel Hato is one player who has been on Liverpool’s radar.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Lewis Steele has been discussing Liverpool’s interest in Jorrel Hato, and he shared an intriguing update on this situation.

Virgil van Dijk and Arne Slot disagree over Jorrel Hato

According to Steele, Virgil van Dijk and Arne Slot have differing views when it comes to the idea of signing Jorrel Hato.

Steele says Virgil van Dijk is a massive fan of the defender, but Slot isn’t as sold on Hato, and that’s why Milos Kerkez has emerged as Liverpool’s top target at left-back.

Hato had been valued at £40m, but it would appear Liverpool aren’t going to go down this route.

Arsenal are also keen on Hato, so they could swoop here.

“Any news on Hato?” Steele was asked.

“Do you know what? Someone told me, someone in the Netherlands told me that Virgil van Dijk absolutely raves about Jorrel Hato, but Arne Slot wasn’t as convinced, and that’s why they’ve reached Kerkez as the number one left-back target.

Van Dijk is reportedly a massive fan of Hato, and he will know better than most what a top talent this young man is.

Indeed, Van Dijk has played alongside Hato on two occasions for the Netherlands, and he’s seen first-hand just how good the Ajax star is.

Van Dijk will also have trained alongside Hato on a number of occasions too, so he’s well-placed to say just how good the defender is.

That said, Arne Slot is the boss, and if he disagrees, Liverpool will not be signing this sort of player.

Milos Kerkez looks to be Liverpool’s left-back solution, but whether they regret not going and signing Hato remains to be seen.
