Villa fans rave about Tottenham star Son
Aston Villa suffered a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham in North London on Sunday afternoon – and Villa fans have rued just how good Son Heung-min was.
Son, 29, was superb on Sunday – laying on two assists as Spurs ended a run of three straight league defeats to beat Dean Smith’s Midlands outfit.
Villa came into the match having beaten Manchester United last weekend – Bruno Fernandes, of course, missing a penalty. Villa won 1-0.
Spurs, meanwhile, had lost their last three league games including the North London derby against Arsenal. They did beat Mura 5-1 on Thursday.
It was Son that created the first goal. The South Korea skipper laid a nice pass into Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who finished superbly from 20 yards.
In the second half, Villa came back into it and England international Watkins prodded a nice move from Smith’s men into the net.
But not long after, Spurs were back in front. Son was let loose down the left. Turning Kortney Hause inside out, he gave Lucas Moura a tap-in.
What are Villa fans saying about Tottenham star Son?
The goal was given as a Matt Targett own goal, but either way, Spurs have ended up winning 2-1. A frustatring display for Villa fans.
Many will have seen Spurs and their recent form and thought, it was a match for the taking. Villa beat Spurs in the Capital last season.
Despite the loss, many Villa fans were still incredibly full of praise of Tottenham ace Son – with some suggesting he was better than Harry Kane.
