Kyogo Furuhashi goal compilation: Watch new Celtic signing in action
Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Kyogo Furuhashi on a four-year contract.
Furuhashi will be joining from J1-League club Vissel Kobe, subject to passing his medical and gaining international clearance.
New Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou knows the 26-year-old well from his time managing in the Japanese top flight.
“We are delighted to bring Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic,” the Australian told the official Hoops website.
“He is a player of real quality and clearly someone I know well.
“I think he will add something special to our squad and I am sure the way he plays will excite our supporters.
“We look forward to welcoming him to Celtic.”
Furuhashi is the current top scorer in the J1 League, with 14 goals in 20 games.
The prolific winger is also a teammate of Barcelona and Spain legend Andres Iniesta.
Furuhashi has helped Vissel Kobe with their first and second ever trophies – the Emperor’s Cup and the Japanese Super Cup.
And he has won six caps for Japan, scoring three goals.
On Friday, journalist Sacha Pisani shared an official J-League video of some of Furuhashi’s best goals.
It includes a superb chip over the goalkeeper from just outside the box.
