Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli almost scored a wondergoal in the second half of Brazil’s 4-0 win over Bolivia last night.
Martinelli came on in the 54th minute of that victory, replacing Philippe Coutinho with the score at 2-0.
He earned a player rating of 7.5 out of 10 from Brazilian outlet Lance after coming off the bench.

They wrote: “He entered with a lot of enthusiasm.
“He went on, introduced himself, and picked up the game. He was important in scoring the third goal.
“He made a beautiful dribble inside the area and almost scored a great goal.”
That near miss referenced in the video below. Martinelli pulled off an outrageous piece of skill inside the box and almost finished it off.
What a goal it would have been if he could have finished and made it 3-0 to cap his impressive substitute performance.
Martinelli shows no sign of slowing down as Arsenal approach the business end of the season with fourth place firmly within their grasp.
So far, the decision to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave has allowed Mikel Arteta’s young forwards such as Martinelli to shine.
He looks full of confidence and that is exactly what Arsenal need to get over the line in the race for the Champions League.
