Arsenal are reportedly considering an option to recall William Saliba from St. Etienne in the January transfer window despite being on loan there until the summer – and video footage has now emerged of the teenager back in training.
It has been a frustarting campaign for the 18-year-old. Last season, the France youth international broke into St. Etienne’s team and clocked up 19 senior appearances. It saw Arsenal stump up £27million in the summer, and loan him back to Les Verts.
This season, though, Saliba has only played seven times. A hamstring injury hampered his progress until September 29, and he then broke a bone in his foot – an injury which he is still recovering from.

The Mirror have claimed that Saliba could return to Arsenal in January, given Calum Chambers suffered a knee injury against Chelsea on Saturday. The Gunners may look to cancel his loan at St. Etienne, which is scheduled until the end of the season.
Arsenal have needed a centre-back anyway, even without Chambers’ injury. Shkodran Mustafi has been woeful, whole David Luiz has struggled since his move from Chelsea. Sokratis has also failed to impress, while Rob Holding has been injured.
Now, amid reports that Arsenal could cancel 18-year-old Saliba’s season-long loan at the halfway point in January, video footage has emerged on Twitter of the youngster back in training at St. Etienne – as per Get French Football News.
