Gjanni Alioski is renowned for his energy and off-the-pitch antics, and now he has taken it a level further by teasing Barnsley defender and former Leeds United star Aapo Halme in the tunnel before Sunday’s clash at Oakwell.
Leeds earned a 2-0 win over Barnsley away from home to return to the top of the Championship, thanks to late goals from substitute Eddie Nketiah and then Mateusz Klich. Nketiah won the penalty, after a foul be colossus Halme.
Halme was one of three Leeds players to travel across Yorkshire and join newly-promoted Barnsley this summer, with Clarke Odour and Mallik Wilks also swapping the white of Leeds for the red of Barnsley. Alex Mowatt is also impressing at Oakwell.
Since the win, a video of Macedonia international Alioski has emerged on social media. It sees Alioski asking 21-year-old Halme if he is “nervous” before the game, and then questioning why he had not said “hello” before the match.

Halme, who stands at a lofty 6ft 7in, joined the club from HJK Helsinki and broke into the first team under Marcelo Bielsa – playing five times for the senior side and even scoring in the FA Cup against QPR back in January.
But he was sold in the summer with Bielsa preferring the likes of Liam Cooper, Ben White, Luke Ayling, Gaetano Berardi and Pascal Struijk at centre-back. He has since made five appearances for Barnsley.
