Antonio Conte‘s Tottenham Hotspur secured a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League as the group winners following a dramatic victory over Marseille last night.
Spurs just needed a point to secure qualification, but a draw would’ve only helped them finish second in the group. It looked that way for a while, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored with the last kick of the game to seal a truly memorable win.

Conte was banned from the touchline for the game against Marseille yesterday.
His red card late in the game against Sporting Lisbon last week meant he was not allowed to have any form of direct communication with his side during the fixture.
That put Tottenham at a disadvantage as we all know how big of an influence Conte is on the touchline.
Thankfully for the Italian and Spurs fans, the players managed to get the job done. They were woeful in the first half, but a brilliant second half display and a bit of luck at times helped them seal a fantastic victory.
Conte, unsurprisingly, was delighted to see Hojbjerg score a late winner. He was over the moon in the stands, and celebrated in style – right in front of Marseille’s fans.

It really is amazing that Tottenham managed to secure the top spot in their group.
They could’ve easily lost last night’s game and dropped down to the Europa League, but they weathered the storm and managed to come from behind and pick up a fantastic victory.
However, Spurs just can’t keep coming from behind to win games. It’s almost as if they wait to go a goal or two down before they think of reacting, which is not a great sign at all.
Conte knows that and he will try to change that mentality in the coming weeks and months. If he manages to achieve that, Spurs could go on and do something really special this season.
