He may have only scored one goal for Aston Villa, but Calum Chambers scored a great winning goal in training, while managing to avoid a big challenge from John McGinn in the process.
The video of a small-sided game with the caption, ‘Next goal wins’ shows new club captain John McGinn putting his body on the line to prevent the other team scoring.
After blocking two shots, he can’t stop Calum Chambers finally burying his shot, but not before putting in a two-footed challenge that might have earned him at least a talking to in an actual game.
It’s all smiles afterwards though, with Chambers able to jump out the way to avoid a collision.
Villa fans will be glad to see the levels of energy and positivity in the camp, especially after their first win of the season last weekend against Everton.

Chambers scores winning goal in training
It’s not been the easiest start to the season for Steven Gerrard’s side.
A surprising opening day defeat to Bournemouth was overshadowed by discussions about captaincy, after Gerrard took the armband away from defender Tyrone Mings.
The England international returned to the starting line-up for their win against Villa, but will need a new defensive partner for their visit to Crystal Palace on Saturday after Diego Carlos suffered a nasty knee injury.

Villa have been linked with a new centre-back to reinforce their dwindling numbers, with Jason Denayer and Duje Caleta-Car both names being linked to the West Midlands club.
With Kortney Hause on the verge of leaving the club, Gerrard might be slightly concerned that one of his three fit centre-backs is having to ride challenges from McGinn in training.
However, with no harm done, you never know when a bit of shooting practice for Chambers may come in handy for Villa this season.
