Tottenham loanee Harry Winks has undergone surgery during his spell with Sampdoria, and Joe Hart and Victor Wanyama have reacted.
Winks moved to Serie A during the summer after being frozen out by Spurs manager Antonio Conte from the very start of pre-season.
But the 26-year-old has confirmed on Instagram that he has undergone surgery on an ankle injury which has plagued him since he made that move.

Hart and Wanyama wish Winks well
He posted an upbeat message, saying that the procedure had gone well and underlining that he was keen to get back playing straight away.
Meanwhile, his teammates at his parent club were eliminated from the EFL Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest last night.
Hart and Wanyama have played with Winks at Spurs, and wished him well with his recovery as he looks to get his career back on track.

The impending announcement of the England World Cup squad brings Winks’ decline during recent years into sharp focus.
If Euro 2020 went ahead as planned before the pandemic, Winks may well have been battling with Declan Rice for the anchorman spot in the side.
Since then, their careers have gone in very different directions and he has absolutely no prospect of going Qatar, instead focusing on his recovery as he looks to get back on track.
