Whoever ended up taking over from Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds was always going to have to have something about them and Jesse Marsch is the man now tasked with picking up the baton.
Under Bielsa, Leeds have risen to the top tier of English football once again and cemented themselves back in the Premier League. Sure, relegation remains a possibility this season, but the Whites will be confident of turning things around.

And with Marsch now at the helm, Leeds fans will be eagerly anticipating what comes next. However, if there are any lingering doubts that Leeds might have rushed this appointment, then they needn’t worry. That’s because, according to The Athletic, Leeds supremo Victor Orta has carried out extensive work before settling on Marsch.
The Athletic reports how Orta has watched clips of over 40 different coaches as he sought Bielsa’s replacement. And after doing the groundwork, he has apparently decided that Marsch was the standout option.
TBR’s View: Orta’s Detail Is Good News For Leeds
Appointing any new manager always has an element of risk about it but at least Leeds and Orta can conclude they’ve put the work in to get this one right.
The attention to detail can sometimes make all the difference and it’s clear Orta has took care here. Marsch, on the surface anyway, seems a smart appointment. He has a similar ethos to that of Bielsa. Crucially, though, he will bring a freshness that’s needed.
Coming out on top of more than 40 considerations is a big deal. Marsch, then, now needs to deliver for Orta.
