Journalist Graeme Bailey claims Tottenham Hotspur insiders are now starting to get really concerned that Antonio Conte and Harry Kane may leave.

Conte and Kane have been central to the success Tottenham have had since the Italian took over last November.

Spurs have gone on to qualify for Champions League football once again and despite recent results, the club look to be heading in the right direction.

The Telegraph recently reported that Tottenham are ready to open talks with Conte over a new deal and the club do have an option to extend his current deal by 12-months.

Kane is under contract until 2024 and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich recently.

Now, Bailey claims that Spurs are beginning to worry over the pair due to Massimiliano Allegri’s situation at Juventus and apparent interest from Bayern.

Tottenham insiders getting concerned Kane and Conte may leave

Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, 90 Min’s Bailey discussed how Spurs insiders are feeling about Kane and Conte’s situation right now.

“In terms of both of them, very worried,” he said.

“In terms of Conte and what we’re hearing in Turin with Allegri, Tottenham could be looking at a new manager in January. They could be looking for a new manager in a month.

“The World Cup break is a big one for Spurs. But the Kane one is a massive worry to them.

“Spurs are confident that he signs a new deal, but it’s this particular Bayern Munich interest which is really different to what we’ve heard before.”

TBR View: Conte and Kane’s futures seem to be connected

Conte has recently called for patience at Spurs as he aims to build a squad capable of challenging for the biggest trophies.

It’s no secret that Kane is aiming to lift trophies in the near future and his best chance of doing this at Tottenham is under the Italian.

If Spurs can keep Conte happy and provide him with the necessary tools to compete at the highest level, Kane could be content to stay in north London.

Bayern are an attractive prospect for any top player, but Kane is slowly closing in on Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record and will be desperate to surpass him.

Spurs need to do everything within their power to keep hold of both Conte and Kane. It’s hard to see the club challenging at the top of the table without the pair.
