‘Very unlucky’: These Rangers fans surprised by star’s absence as lineup for Hibs test confirmed

Rangers fans have reacted with surprise to Scott Wright’s omission from today’s starting lineup.

Having arrived from Aberdeen in the January transfer window, Wright has been impressive in his appearances from the bench.

He was handed a starting berth in the 4-0 Scottish Cup third round win over Cove Rangers, and some supporters would like to have seen him retain his place for the visit of Hibs to Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard’s men go into the game looking to maintain their unbeaten Premiership run and go into next weekend’s Scottish Cup derby against Celtic on a high.

Nathan Patterson keeps his place at right-back, while Kemar Roofe is preferred to Ianis Hagi alongside Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

Hibs go into today’s game with two wins, two defeats and a draw from their last five league outings.

STARTING XI: McGregor, Patterson, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Davis, Kamara, Aribo, Roofe, Morelos, Kent

SUBS: McLaughlin, Balogun, Bassey, Zungu, Arfield, Wright, Hagi, Stewart, Itten

Here’s a sample of the reaction to today’s lineup from Rangers fans.
