West Ham United have been linked with Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia in recent days.
The Hammers could really do with bringing in some reinforcements in attack during the January transfer window.
West Ham didn’t replace Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio is currently out injured, leaving Jarrod Bowen with the responsibility of leading the Hammers line.
With regards to West Ham’s interest in Dia, Italian outlet Cronache di Salerno says frontrunners Eintracht Frankfurt need to ‘watch out for’ Premier League sides like the Hammers.
West Ham target Boulaye Dia ‘must be sold permanently’
Now, Italian journalist and Salernitana expert Carmine Raiola has provided an update on the 27-year-old’s transfer situation, which is good news for the likes of West Ham.
Speaking on Radio Bruno, via Labaro Viola, Raiola said: “A strong player, he makes the team move up and makes the team score. Everyone remembers the hat-trick against Fiorentina.

“He wants to leave Salerno. Sabatini was clear, the attacker must be sold permanently. Just think, Milan had offers of €15million and they were rejected.
“Fiorentina, if interested, will have to spend €21million. But with technical counterparts the price could be lowered.
“For me, he will leave, just look at what happened in the summer. Very strong, but with a truly complicated character. From abroad, Frankfurt and Newcastle like him.”
For context, Dia was hoping to seal a move to Wolves in the summer, but Salernitana didn’t sanction a move.
This led to the Senegal ace initially refusing to return to the club after the international break, but he ultimately resolved his differences with the club’s hierarchy.
West Ham will surely fancy their chances of signing Dia in the January transfer window.
He’s reportedly eager to move, the club seems willing to sanction a move, he’s a decent player who will add quality to their front line, and €21million is around £18million, which shouldn’t break the bank.
