Diogo Jota completed 90 minutes in the defeat to Watford at Molineux on Saturday – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter ripped into him for the quality of his performance.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side suffered just their second defeat in the Premier League this season, as they were outdone by an impressive opponent.

Watford secured three points with a 2-0 victory on the road, as Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra got on the scoresheet in the first-half.

Wolves’ impressive five-game unbeaten run in the league finally came to an end and they travel to Brighton on Saturday in their next match.

Attacker Jota came in for huge criticism from supporters after his display against Watford and feel that he failed to provide the extra spark in the final third.

The 21-year-old played an important role in promotion from the Championship last season, but is yet to register a goal or an assist in the top flight.

He’s a skilful winger that could see his starting position come under threat due to the healthy competition in the squad and another quiet display against Watford did himself no favours.
