Tottenham legend Clive Allen has been previewing the clash with Nottingham Forest tonight and admitted his surprise at some comments from Heung-Min Son.

The new Tottenham skipper was in fine form last week against Newcastle and he found the net from the penalty spot in the 4-1 win.

After the game, ‘Sonny’ had revealed he’d been actually practicing penalties for some time with former Spurs star Harry Kane. Of course, Kane was the regular spot-kick taker before and rarely missed.

And speaking to Tottenham’s official channels before Forest tonight, club legend Clive Allen admitted he’d been surprised to hear what Son had to say.

“I thought it was very interesting afterwards saying that he practiced a lot with Harry. He was quite confident to take that penalty kick. Obviously when Harry was here, he was taking our penalties, but it looks like Sonny is now more than capable,” Allen said.

Son will be hoping for yet more chances to find the net tonight against Forest. Steve Cooper’s side are in poor form and Tottenham will be confident of getting a result.

Heung-Min Son is Tottenham’s main man these days

So many thought Harry Kane leaving Tottenham was going to be a nightmare situation for everyone.

But just a few months on, it now looks like it’s been a blessing for a few players in this Spurs squad.

Yes, a lot of credit has to go to Ange Postecoglou. However, players like Son have been outstanding in their own right and that is down to the player himself.

Son is now the top dog at Tottenham. There is no doubt about it whatsoever.

Right now, he’s one of the most in-form players in Europe and you have to say, the Spurs star would walk into every other XI in the league on current form.

Tottenham – and Allen – will be hoping for more of the same from their star man tonight.
