'Very good sign': Pundit shares what he saw Dejan Kulusevski doing on the pitch after Tottenham's win on Saturday
Spurs completed a dramatic comeback win against Bournemouth over the weekend as Rodrigo Bentancur grabbed a late winner at the Vitality Stadium.
Antonio Conte’s men found themselves two goals behind after 50 minutes. But goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies got them back on level terms heading into the final 15 minutes of the game.
The Italian will be delighted with the comeback which saw his side avoid losing three games on the bounce.
But there is also some positive news regarding the fitness of Kulusevski. The 22-year-old was spotted doing box-to-box shuttle runs on the pitch after the game.
What Kulusevski was doing on the pitch after full-time
Former Liverpool man Don Hutchison spotted the Spurs winger being put through his paces after Saturday’s win.
“You know what it’s like when you’ve come back from injury and you’re being asked to do runs after the game and (Dejan) Kulusevski was doing box-to-box shuttles after the game,” Hutchison told Optus Sport.
“It’s a very good sign and tells you that he’s not far away. So you take Richarlison and Kulusevski out of that and you do see the lack of creativity.”
Kulusevski has been ruled out for well over a month after suffering an injury while on international duty with Sweden.
The winger hasn’t featured since Spurs beat Leicester City 6-2 in mid-September. Conte’s men have really missed his creativity in the final third over the past month but it seems he is edging closer to a return.
They haven’t been helped by Richarlison also picking up a calf injury during the win over Everton just over two weeks ago.
Spurs face a huge Champions League clash tomorrow night and they need to pick up a result in France against Marseille.
It would be a huge boost for Conte if Kulusevski was back in time for tomorrow night’s clash. If Spurs manage to pick up at least a draw, they’ll progress to the last-16 and avoid dropping down to the Europa League.
