'Very good sign': Andy Couzens reacts to what Leeds have posted on Twitter

Andy Couzens has expressed his delight on Twitter after Leeds United posted a photo of Raphinha back in training with the Whites.

Raphinha was a big miss for Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the weekend. Of course, his absence came off the back of a stunning international break for the winger.

He scored twice and provided a number of assists across his first three caps for Brazil.

The final fixture came on Friday before a mad dash back to England to give the 24-year-old the best chance of being involved against Southampton on Saturday.

He was with the squad at St Mary’s at the weekend. But Bielsa decided to leave him out of the ranks for the clash with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

And ultimately, Leeds missed him terribly.

Southampton won 1-0. And the visitors barely laid a glove on the home side on the south coast. In fact, they did not have a single shot on target.

There were other problems. Leeds were completely overrun in midfield without Kalvin Phillips.

But not having Raphinha seemed to make the Whites much more predictable. Neither Dan James or Jack Harrison enjoyed the best afternoon.

The good news for Leeds is that it appears that they will have Raphinha back for Saturday’s crucial game with Wolves.

The Whites posted a photo of the wide-man back in training. And Couzens highlighted how much of a boost it was to see him involved…

Raphinha quickly becoming Leeds’ talisman

There are a couple of clear contenders for the most important player in Bielsa’s squad.

Patrick Bamford is the most lethal goalscorer and does so much important work when leading the line.

And Kalvin Phillips is absolutely vital to their way of playing. He is probably the most important component in Bielsa’s system.

But Raphinha is now the talisman. He is the game-changer when Leeds need a moment of inspiration in the final third.

He is on his way to becoming a world-class talent. So he is the player most likely to drag Leeds away from where they currently find themselves in the Premier League table.
