Everton youngster Reece Welch has named Conor Coady and James Tarkowski as the two players at the club who have impressed him with their ability on the ball.
The 19-year-old spoke to the club’s official website today after putting pen to paper for a new four-year contract with the Toffees.
Welch has made one appearance for Frank Lampard’s side this season, starting the game at centre-back against Fleetwood Town.
And the youngster has now claimed Conor Coady and James Tarkowski are ‘very good’ on the ball.

Welch on Coady and Tarkowski
Speaking to Everton’s official website, Welch was asked how much he’s been able to learn from other centre-backs at the club.
He said: “A lot. Obviously with Tarkowski coming in and Conor Coady. They’ve really helped me and tried to be a mentor towards me and I’m just trying to take everything on board.
The youngster was then asked what he had learned from the Everton duo while training with them.
“On defending, showing passion and being strong in tackles,” he responded.
“They’re very good on the ball so I can take a few tips from them on playing out from the back.”

Both Tarkowski and Coady are proving to be astute signings for the Toffees so far this season. The pair have struck up an excellent partnership in the heart of Everton’s defence.
Coady was brought in on loan from Wolves and Tarkowski joined on a free transfer after leaving relegated Burnley during the summer.
Lampard’s side boast the best defensive record in the Premier League so far this season, having only conceded seven goals. Both Tarkowski and Coady have been a pivotal reason for Everton’s defensive solidarity.
Welch certainly has two brilliant mentors to learn under at Goodison Park as he looks to earn himself an opportunity in Lampard’s side.
