Tottenham Hotspur star Jan Vertonghen produced one his best performances in years on Wednesday as he helped Spurs place one foot in the Champions League quarter-final.
Spurs beat Bundesliga title contenders 3-0 at Wembley, with the Belgian playing a starring role deputising at left wing-back.

Vertonghen scored the game’s second goal and also assisted Heung-min Son’s opener, and shackled Dortmund livewire Jadon Sancho.
It was a masterclass of a performance from the former Ajax defender, who really rolled back the years on the biggest club stage.
Despite his advancing years, he continues to prove he is up to the task for Spurs, and certainly banished all memories of his horror show against Arsenal earlier in the season.
North London Derby simply a one-off
Many will remember when Spurs were beaten 4-2 by bitter rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium back in December.
It was a bad day for the club that day, with the Gunners leapfrogging the Lilywhites into fourth in the table.
Vertonghen was uncharacteristically poor and ended up getting himself sent off.

It was that bad of a showing that many questioned whether he was on the decline.
But last night’s performance against Dortmund is proof that he is nowhere near finished and that his Emirates nightmare was a one-off.
For Vertonghen has also been relatively solid in the games since that defeat, and he will be crucial if Spurs are to make a fight of the Premier League and Champions League titles.
