Rangers posted a short video of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first training session as Ibrox manager on Tuesday – and two youngsters were included.

Van Bronckhorst and his coaching staff put the Rangers players through their paces on Tuesday at the Rangers Training Centre.

The Gers are preparing for a crucial clash, against Sparta Prague at Ibrox. Van Bronckhorst is certainly being thrown at the deep end, as Gers boss.

Somewhat surprising then, that in his first training session as manager – there were two youngsters included ahead of Thursday’s big game.

Striker Juan Alegria, who has been on fire for the B-team, and ex-Manchester United man Charlie McCann are both seen in the video posted.

Alegria and McCann are in the same rondo alongside the likes of Alfredo Morelos. Alegria is wearing number 46, while McCann has number 42.

McCann and Alegria: Could van Bronckhorst include Rangers duo?

Given it is an enormous match, one that might possibly decide whether Rangers have European football after Christmas – it would be a big surprise.

The Gers could win, and solidify their chances of finishing second behind Lyon. A draw would be frustrating, as they take on Lyon in France next.

Third place will see them go into the Conference League but a win is crucial on Thursday. So, including McCann and Alegria would be a massive risk.

However, there could be places on the bench for the young duo – simply just to soak up the matchday experience and Ibrox atmosphere.
