Valentino Lazaro’s agent comments on Newcastle future

Valentino Lazaro’s future is up in the air as he remains on loan at Newcastle United and the Austrian wide man’s agent Max Hegmayr has told Inter Dipendenza that even he is unsure where Lazaro will end up.

Lazaro, 24, joined Newcastle as one of three loan signings in the January window – along with Schalke’s Nabil Bentaleb and Tottenham’s Danny Rose. Lazaro has since played five times for Newcastle, scoring in a 3-2 FA Cup win over West Brom.

According to TMW, Inter Milan are confident that Newcastle will cough up the £21.5million permanent clause to sign Lazaro in the summer – with a potential takeover outweighing the financial difficulty that the global health crisis has enforced.

Hegmayr kept his cards close to his chest when speaking over Lazaro’s future, stating that an answer to Lazaro’s future will only become apparent in time – perhaps after the global health crisis.

“Valentino has a contract with Inter. He was sent on loan to Newcastle but then the virus arrived. Future? We will see what will happen later,” Hegmayr said, when asked if Lazaro would be joining Newcastle on a permanent basis.

TBR’s view – Is Lazaro worth buying permanently?

Still very young and offering enormous versatility that allows him to play on both flanks, and either side of the defence, Lazaro is a very good player that even convinced Antonio Conte into luring him to Inter Milan.

With a prospective takeover close to completion, Lazaro’s permanent clause is easily affordable. Whether Newcastle believe Lazaro is worth keeping, is a completely different story.
