Valencia's Yunus Musah says Arsenal return is 'possible' one day

Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah has opened the door for a potential return to Arsenal one day, three years after leaving the Gunners.

The 19-year-old spent seven years at Arsenal’s London Colney. He played 18 times for the club’s U18s side before leaving the Gunners for Valencia in the summer of 2019.

Valencia’s Yunus Musah says Arsenal return is ‘possible’ one day

Since moving to Spain, Musah has played 80 times for Valencia’s first team. He has five goals and three assists to his name, having played in as many as eight different positions over the last three years.

The 19-year-old American was heavily linked with a move away from Valencia in 2020, but the Spanish outfit tied him down to a six-year-deal then. His contract now has a £90m release clause (The Daily Mail).

Musah is unlikely to leave Valencia in January, but when asked about Arsenal, he quickly admitted that he’s open to a return to the Emirates one day – if an opportunity arises.

He told CBS Sports: “You never know.

“I had a great time at Arsenal developing there, I still have friends there, the coaches were great, being an Arsenal player in general is great. I loved playing for Arsenal. I’ve nothing against the club and if one day it turns out to be that it’s time to go back then it’s possible.

“For now I’m really happy at Valencia and I’m looking forward to carrying this season on in the same way we’re doing now.”

Musah really is a special talent.

The teenager, branded as a ‘stunning’ footballer by FourFourTwo and compared to Paul Pogba by his old boss Steve Cooper, is hugely versatile and he has a massive future ahead of him.

He checks all the boxes Arsenal look for these days, and as a talented young player, he would fit in really well at the Emirates Stadium club, who boast the youngest team in the Premier League.

However, whether Arsenal would be willing to bring him back remains to be seen.
