Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo caught the eye against Partick Thistle, and he could have an important role this season.
The Ivorian was starting for only the second time in2019/20 after last month’s Premiership clash with Hearts, and looked a handful at Parkhead.

The 22-year-old, who signed for the club from DAC Dunajska Streda midway through last season in a reported £2 million deal (BBC Sport), helped himself to a first goal for the club and he also assisted Tom Rogic during a promising display.
Bayo came in for a lot of praise on social media after the game, from a fanbase who haven’t seen an awful lot from him since he joined the club.
He made just one one-minute cameo appearance under Neil Lennon last term against Kilmarnock and spent most of his time with the reserves, before an injury ended his season early.
TBR’s view
Bayo looks like he could be the man to help push Odsonne Edouard to new heights this season.
He gave a really good account of himself against Partick and it looks like he has now finally settled at the club.

With Leigh Griffiths slightly injury prone, it could be that Bayo eventually becomes the direct backup for Edouard.
And if he makes the most of his game time, his form could be the catalyst for Edouard to improve his own game and perhaps help him surpass his 22-goal haul of last season.
