Vakoun Bayo has posted on Instagram after he completed a season-long loan move to relegated French side Toulouse, after a very tricky spell at Celtic which has seen the Ivorian struggle – and plenty have reacted, including a Manchester United player.
Bayo, 23, joined Celtic in January 2019 under Brendan Rodgers for a fee believed to be in the region of £2million (Herald). However, he has played just 17 times for the Celtic first team since – clocking up just two goals.
The Hoops are expected to complete the permanent signing of West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti, and that has seen Celtic decide to make room for the Swiss forward by offloading Bayo. He has joined Toulouse on loan.
It will see Bayo play in the second tier of French football for a side that finished rock bottom of Ligue 1. Bayo has posted on Instagram on Thursday afternoon, after it was confirmed that he had moved to France on loan.
Celtic still boast Odsonne Edouard as their first-choice striker but still have January signing Patryk Klimala and Leigh Griffiths on the books. Ajeti is expected to join, and such competition may be a sign Lennon is looking to play two up front.
Bayo posted pictures of himself in the purple of Toulouse, and Jeremie Frimpong and Eboue Kouassi responded, the latter’s message translated as: “Good luck brother, may God facilitate”.
Manchester United star Eric Bailly also responded, wishing him good luck.
