Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has called Eden Hazard the toughest opponent he has ever come up against.
Hazard has been linked with Aston Villa as the club embark on Unai Emery’s first transfer window in charge of the club.
The Belgian retired from international football after the World Cup and has lost his way somewhat since signing for Real Madrid.
But at his best, he is absolutely devastating and that was something underlined by Alexander-Arnold, as shared by the official UEFA Champions League Twitter account.

Alexander-Arnold calls Hazard his toughest ever opponent
“Toughest opponent I’ve ever faced? Eden Hazard,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“Speed, agility, awareness, his intelligence on and off the ball is just unreal.”
Hazard may well decide to stay at Madrid and make a fist of his time at the Bernabeu under Carlo Ancelotti, having made it clear the move was a dream for him.
“I see him well. He has trained well. I see him better than before the World Cup, it’s true,” Ancelotti said when talking about Hazard in his pre-match press conference ahead of Madrid’s league clash with Valladolid last month.
“I’m sure that with all the games we have ahead of us, Hazard is going to be important.”
And perhaps Emery will prioritise younger, hungrier players on lower wages now that the transfer window is open, but these comments underline just how good he is at his best.
