A number of Sunderland fans have been praising Charlie Wyke’s latest performance for the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.
Phil Parkinson’s charges made it two wins in a row and three unbeaten after running out 2-1 winners over Ipswich on Wearside.
Wyke opened the scoring on eight minutes with his seventh goal of the season, and fourth in Sunderland’s last six League One games.
The 27-year-old connected with Lynden Gooch’s pinpoint pass to feet, held off Mark McGuinness and slotted home from eight yards out.
Jack Lankester levelled for the visitors on 38 minutes, but in the second half, Andre Dozzell was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Grant Leadbitter.
Sunderland then retook the lead five minutes from time when McGuinness handled in the box, and Leadbitter made no mistake from 12 yards.
Although Wyke was quieter after his opener and spurned a couple of good chances, there was still plenty of praise for the Black Cats striker’s efforts and impressive tally.
Here is what some fans said on social media:
Charlie Wyke is unreal, always have backed him n i actually have. love u chazza x

Not pretty but to win the last 2 playing as badly as we did has to be a good sign. Wyke scoring again a big positive. Rotten to watch but good win nevertheless. #safc
