‘Unreal’: Some Manchester City fans hail £150k-a-week star’s Champions League display last night

A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to laud Bernardo Silva’s performance in the Champions League last night.

Pep Guardiola’s charges ran out 2-0 winners over Borussia Monchengladbach in Hungary, a 19th consecutive victory for the Etihad outfit.

City were bright from the off and had several opportunities to open the scoring early on, with Raheem Sterling wanting a penalty that wasn’t given.

They eventually broke the deadlock on 29 minutes, Bernardo heading home Joao Cancelo’s cross.

City continued to plug away with chances, and although Gladbach looked brighter on the counter in the second half, they were finally undone by a 65th-minute goal.

Bernardo turned provider with a headed flick-on for Gabriel Jesus following another great Cancelo delivery.

Aside from his goal and assist, the £150,000-a-week midfielder was tireless and provided plenty of neat balls through the gaps to create chances.

Here is what the City supporters were saying about Bernardo’s latest display:

City are next in action on Sunday, hosting West Ham in the Premier League, and play the second leg against Gladbach on 16 March.
