Arsenal fans are frustrated with reports that Leeds United could pay £30 million for Daniel James, according to the Sun.
Frustration
James is expected to leave Manchester United for Leeds later today, and it is a transfer which has raised eye brows at the Emirates Stadium.
That is because Arsenal have struggled to offload any of their fringe players this summer.
The Gunners looked set for a clear out, but finding buyers for their unwanted assets has proven very complicated.
When Arsenal have sold players, they typically haven’t received big fees for them.
And Arsenal feel that the imminent deal is set to expose how poor their negotiations are.
Arsenal have looked at selling the likes of Granit Xhaka, Hector Bellerin, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah at different points this summer to little avail.
Indeed, the only transfer which really raised them significant funds was the sale of Joe Willock to Newcastle United.
That may have impeded on Arsenal’s ability to have a major rebuild.
But Mikel Arteta has still invested fairly significantly, with Arsenal the top spending Premier League side so far in terms of transfer fees so far.
