Micah Richards was left amazed by Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin’s performance in the first-half against Manchester City today.
Eddie Howe’s men went 1-0 down very early on after Ilkay Gundogan gave City the lead.
But the Magpies came back into the game brilliantly and Saint-Maximin provided a real threat down the left-hand side.
The French winger set-up both of Newcastle’s goals in the first-half as Howe’s men came back to lead 2-1.
And the former City defender was blown away by the 25-year-old’s performance.

Richards amazed by Saint-Maximin
“Saint-Maximin has been unplayable at times,” he said.
“Everything good for Newcastle has come down their left side.”
Saint-Maximin went on to win the free-kick for Kieran Trippier’s goal in the second-half and had a huge impact on the game.
It was a brilliant game at St James’ Park and Eddie Howe’s men certainly put in an impressive performance against the Premier League champions.
The Magpies took a 3-1 lead early in the second-half but City instantly got back in the fixture as they scored two goals in quick succession.

Despite being up by two goals, Howe’s men were denied a big victory as the game finished 3-3. But Saint-Maximin’s performance will certainly please Howe as the player is starting to show more end product.
The former OGC Nice winger has put in some dazzling displays at St James’ Park but has been criticised for not creating or scoring enough goals.
But the Frenchman certainly provided that for the Magpies against City and Howe will be hoping the winger can put in more displays like he did today.
