Liverpool are reportedly still interested in Arnaut Danjuma.

Spanish outlet Marca claimed in the summer that Jurgen Klopp was keen to sign the 24-year-old.

Villarreal eventually won the race for Danjuma’s services, but if a latest report is to be believed, Liverpool may still be keeping tabs on him.

According to Voetbal International, the Reds had scouts in attendance to watch his latest performance.

The report claims Liverpool are “closely monitoring” the Netherlands international and boast “above-average interest” in him.

Danjuma was in action for Villarreal as they took on Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.

He was his side’s standout player at Old Trafford, weighing in with several shots and making numerous key passes.

One of those led to an assist for Paco Alcacer to open the scoring for the visitors in the 53rd minute.

Former Red Devils ace Ashley Young praised the £21.3million man at half time.

“Danjuma has been unplayable at times,” he said on BBC Sport.

“If United play like this in the second half, they’re going to be in trouble.”

Later on, fellow BBC Sport commentator Clinton Morrison hailed Danjuma’s goal contribution.

“It was all down to Danjuma,” he said. “The timing of the pass was just brilliant.”

United drew level with Villarreal on the hour through Alex Telles before Cristiano Ronaldo scored an injury-time winner.
