Unleashing Traore from the start will help Wolves maintain flying start
Adama Traore has the raw talent to be one of the Premier League’s most potent attackers.
His sheer pace and dribbling ability mean that he is a handful for any defender in the division; but his lack of end-product and positional discipline has held him back throughout his career so far.
Nuno Santo clearly feels that he can make an impact in the top flight, splashing a club-record fee on the wideman in the summer.
But he has tempered that by holding him back; introducing him from the bench and not handing him his first Premier League start. The time has come to unleash Traore as Wolves look to secure their top eight status after a blistering start.
Traore has said recently that he is ready to take the Premier League by storm. Of course, Wolves have two outstanding talents in Diogo Jota and Helder Costa manning the flanks at present.
But neither has had the impact Traore could have with his raw speed. Teams will begin to suss Wolves out as their success continues so they must continually shake it up to stay ahead of the game.
The direct threat of Traore would do exactly that; it’s time for Santo to unleash his hitherto secret weapon.
