‘Unfortunately he’s finished’ - These Arsenal react to Koscielny to Bordeaux links
According to L’Equipe, Bordeaux are keen to sign Laurent Koscielny from Arsenal this summer. The Ligue 1 outfit are targeting the veteran centre-back as a replacement for Jules Kounde, who is set to join Sevilla. The Gunners are said to want a fee in exchange for the Frenchman. However, Koscielny himself is thought to be pushing the north London club to release him from his current contract one year early instead.
The Arsenal captain is certainly coming towards the end of his career. Age and a chronic recurring achilles injury limited his game time last season. However, the 51-cap former France international is still amongst the most reliable defenders at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s transfer budget is tight this summer. Therefore, Unai Emery cannot entertain the possibility of allowing the experienced Koscielny to leave for free. If Bordeaux are willing to match the Gunners’ valuation of the defender though, then this could be the right time for Koscielny to leave the club.
Having been with the club since 2010, Koscielny will have earned his place in the hearts of many Arsenal fans. However, the club must now begin rebuilding for the future. Emery must be prepared to let members of the old guard go. However, he cannot afford to do so without recouping a transfer fee in return.
Following the emergence of these links with Bordeaux, plenty of Arsenal fans took to Twitter to give their verdict.
Great. Getting rid of huge wages off the bill (assuming he's on big wages)

I love Koscielny, but unfortunately he's finished at this level😔 https://t.co/i4KtDoB8ol

I know we have a special relationship with Koscielny but i think we shouldnt let Jim leave for free. Our financial position is so poor that we need to take even small fees.
