Jack Wilshere was a truly incredible footballer.

The England international didn’t have the career he probably should have due to injury, but for a little while, he was one of Arsenal’s very best players.

The midfielder was a joy to watch on his day, and while his career was cut short, the 32-year-old left behind a serious legacy.

Wilshere is now a coach at Arsenal, and speaking on his TikTok page, Troy Deeney has lavished praise upon the former midfielder.

Deeney was going through his shirt collection, and when he got to an old Wilshere shirt, he spoke very highly of the former Arsenal man.

Troy Deeney praises Jack Wilshere

Deeney was full of praise for the former wonderkid.

“This one, sometimes you just have to respect greatness init. Jack was unbelievable. He’s doing really well with the coaching now, but as a player, mate he was a scandal,” Deeney said.

Such a shame

As Deeney says, Wilshere was an unbelievable player, and it’s such a shame that we didn’t really get to see the best of him.

Wilshere was supposed to be a world-class talent when he broke onto the scene as a teenager, and while he was a brilliant player, injuries stopped him from being the true superstar he should’ve been.

Now, Wilshere is coaching the young players at Arsenal, carving out a new legacy by teaching the next crop of Gunners stars everything he knows, and, hopefully, his progression in the coaching world will continue and he will be able to help Arsenal off the pitch in the same way he used to help them on the field.
