'Unbelievable', 'this is a shambles': Some Rangers fans react to 'shocking' PFA update
A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express dismay with the news that Ibrox defender Connor Goldson isn’t in the running for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year award.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed an amazing season, playing every minute of every single Scottish Premiership match this term for Steven Gerrard’s side as the Gers surged to their long-awaited 55th title.
Given how dominant Rangers have been this season, it’s not surprising to see the four-man shortlist for the accolade – voted for by fellow players – made up of four Ibrox stars in Steven Davis, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor and James Tavernier.
The nominees for this season’s PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year, are:

However, Goldson’s omission shocked a number of Bears, who felt he definitely deserved a place in the four-man shortlist:
Brilliant to see a @RangersFC clean sweep, but Goldson’s absence from this list is an absolute shocker. Played every minute of every game, 32 clean sheets, scored 8 goals, conceded only 13 in all comps, vice-captain and best leader on the pitch by a country mile! 🤷♂️

Baffling. Kent has been really good recently but not as consistent as Goldson over the season.

Shocking Goldson not even there

How’s goldson not in this. Played every single minute and broke records

Unbelievable that Goldson isn’t a nominee.

Toss up between Kent and Tav whether you like that or not. Goldson has played every minute of every game at the heart of the best defence in the country. Tav fell off and got injured but his first 6 months was outstanding. Goldson, McGregor and Davis should be standouts there

As much as I adore Kent, Goldson should be in there instead of him

I’m sorry but this is a shambles. Where is Connor Goldson?

Goldson joined Rangers in June 2018, becoming Gerrard’s sixth signing of that summer, and to date, he has played 160 games in light blue.
Remarkably, he has clocked up 150 appearances for the club in a quicker timescale – 965 days – than any player in Ibrox history.
Up next for Rangers is Wednesday evening’s Premiership trip to Livingston.
