'Unbelievable', 'this is a shambles': Some Rangers fans react to 'shocking' PFA update

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express dismay with the news that Ibrox defender Connor Goldson isn’t in the running for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year award.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed an amazing season, playing every minute of every single Scottish Premiership match this term for Steven Gerrard’s side as the Gers surged to their long-awaited 55th title.

Given how dominant Rangers have been this season, it’s not surprising to see the four-man shortlist for the accolade – voted for by fellow players – made up of four Ibrox stars in Steven Davis, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor and James Tavernier.

However, Goldson’s omission shocked a number of Bears, who felt he definitely deserved a place in the four-man shortlist:

Goldson joined Rangers in June 2018, becoming Gerrard’s sixth signing of that summer, and to date, he has played 160 games in light blue.

Remarkably, he has clocked up 150 appearances for the club in a quicker timescale – 965 days – than any player in Ibrox history.

Up next for Rangers is Wednesday evening’s Premiership trip to Livingston.
