'Unbelievable', 'this club is cursed': Some Newcastle fans react to injury update
Newcastle United have a superb talent in their ranks in Elliot Anderson, who already has experience against Arsenal.
The 19-year-old has come through the ranks at St James’ Park and has two senior appearances to his name.
Anderson came off the bench in both of Newcastle’s trips against Arsenal last season, in the Premier League and FA Cup.
With Newcastle set to visit the Emirates Stadium today, it was hoped that new Magpies boss Eddie Howe could give him more game time.
Indeed, Jason Tindall spoke highly of the young attacking midfielder in his pre-match press conference.
“He’s certainly a bright talent from what we’ve seen on the training ground,” he said. “He’s got very good potential.
“There’s a lot of competition in the attacking areas but so far what we’ve seen of Elliot, he’s shown really good signs for the future.”
However, Elliot is very unlikely to feature today, as he was in action for the Newcastle Under-23s against Aston Villa last night.
Not only that, but he was forced off with an injury early on, with the Premier League 2 game subsequently abandoned due to the weather.
Needless to say, some Newcastle fans aren’t happy:
