Arsenal have been linked with a summer move for the most in-form striker in European football, and speculation is likely to increase in the coming months.
The Gunners are apparently looking at Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres, who has recorded a frankly staggering 36 goals and 14 assists this term.
Italian outlet Milan Live recently claimed that Arsenal are ‘ready to put €100million (£86million) on the plate’ to blow rival suitors out of the water.
Now, Gyokeres himself has spoken about his future and, while he sought to play down the speculation, he nonetheless kept the door open on a potential summer switch.

With the international break set to get under way, the reported Arsenal target spoke to the Swedish press ahead of Thursday’s friendly with Portugal.
Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen has published quotes from Gyokeres as he was asked about the recent links with Arsenal and other European giants.
“It’s a sign that I’ve performed well. But it’s not something I take too seriously, since it’s just speculation. But of course it’s fun,” said the reported Gunners target.
“We’ll see this summer. It’s not something I know about myself, what will happen. I enjoy Sporting extremely well and feel no stress about the summer coming quickly.”
Arsenal will fancy their chances of signing Viktor Gyokeres – opinion
Arsenal could certainly do with bringing in a proven and clinical goalscorer to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Although the Gunners front line has some quality players, there isn’t really one that can bag an almost guaranteed 20-plus goals a season.
Gyokeres has quickly shown that he can do that. In less than one season at Sporting, he has proven that he’s a cut above and surely a big-money move beckons.
There will no doubt be a lot of interest in the ‘unbelievable‘ 25-year-old, but Arsenal will surely fancy their chances of winning the race if they decide to make a move.
Not only are Arsenal now bona fide Premier League title challengers and back in the Champions League knockouts, but the likelihood of Gyokeres featuring regularly is high as they don’t have similar players.
