Liverpool have some truly world-class players in their squad right now.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all bona fide stars in this game.

However, perhaps the most technically gifted player in this Liverpool squad is someone who has barely played this season.

Indeed, as good as the likes of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are, in terms of pure ability on the ball, there may not be a player at Liverpool who comes close to Thiago Alcantara.

The Spaniard is a ridiculous player, but don’t just take our word for it, Tyler Morton has been full of praise for the former Barcleona man when speaking on the Football Daily YouTube channel.

Tyler Morton praises Thiago

The Liverpool loanee spoke highly of the Spaniard.

“Yeah they speak to you a lot on the daily, I learnt a lot but I can’t pick one piece of advice really. When I was coming into the first-team I tried to base my game on Thiago, but obviously it’s not easy basing your game on such an unbelievable player,” Morton said.

Liverpool’s best player technically

It’s such a shame that Thiago has been perennially injured, because, on his day, he’s Liverpool’s best player.

There’s not a single player in the Reds squad, or perhaps the Premier League who has the finesse, touch or skill of Thiago.

Sadly, he can’t stay fit, and that means that his skills are all rendered useless.

They say that the best ability in football is availability, and that old adage is very rarely wrong, as Thiago’s career serves to prove.

The Spaniard is an unreal player who, in another world, would go down as an all-time great in the Premier League, but sadly, as fate would have it, Thiago hasn’t been able to showcase his class in a Liverpool shirt all that often.
