Dejan Kulusevski has shared what Ange Postecoglou told him right after he joined Tottenham Hotspur from Celtic over the summer.

Speaking to Football.London, the Tottenham winger admitted he’s never worked under a manager like Ange Postecoglou before.

Postecoglou has quickly become a popular man in North London after a positive start to his tenure at Spurs.

The Aussie boss has delivered an exciting brand of football at Tottenham which has gone down well with fans and players alike.

Indeed, Postecoglou has already earned praise from a host of Tottenham players, with Heung-Min Son labelling his relationship with the boss as ‘very special’. 

And Dejan Kulusevski is the latest Spurs player to rave about Postecoglou’s impact at the club.

Kulusevski lauds ‘unbelievable’ Postecoglou

Speaking to Football.London, Kulusevski shared what Postecoglou told him right after joining the club.

“In our first conversation, it was clear we shared the same vision of football,” the Spurs star said. “He said he liked me as a player and he thought he could improve me a lot so from the first day it gave me confidence that he wants to use me.

“After that, I listened to his tactics in every game to gain a good understanding of what he wants from me and I’m learning new things every day about the formation.

“I’ve had a lot of great coaches but he’s a little bit different in every way and it’s the first time in my life that I’ve had a coach like him. He’s an unbelievable guy.”

Postecoglou continues to earn praise after an encouraging start to life in the Premier League.

Spurs have been through a bit of a slump of late as they failed to pick up a win in five games before beating Newcastle United on Sunday.

But the performances have offered Tottenham’s fans encouragement during a difficult spell where Postecoglou’s squad was decimated by injuries and suspensions.

The Aussie has certainly helped Kulusevski return to his best form too, with the Swede quickly becoming a key man in his side. 

Kulusevski has operated in a midfield role of late and he seems to be enjoying his football after signing for Spurs permanently over the summer.
