Alan Shearer has claimed that “unbelievable” Tottenham striker Harry Kane has improved since working with Jose Mourinho.
Spurs boss Mourinho took charge of the north London club back in October 2020, and he’s under pressure to win silverware.
His team face Manchester City later in April in the Carabao Cup final, which looks even more important given the fact they are outside of the Champions League positions in the race for the top four in the Premier League.
Despite some negativity from fans at times over Mourinho’s style of play, they have still scored regularly.
One man at the heart of their success going forward is centre-forward Kane, who already has 29 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.
The 27-year-old England captain is on the brink of smashing the 30-goal barrier, which would be the first time he’s achieved that since the 2017/18 campaign.
Shearer has explained he feels Kane has taken his game up another level under Mourinho.
“An interesting thing to note in passing is that for all the criticism of Tottenham and how negative they can be — and it’s not much fun to watch when they sit back — if anything, Harry has got better. He’s always been a brilliant player but under Jose, he’s been unbelievable,” Shearer wrote for the Athletic.

TBR’s View:
Aside from Heung-Min Son, Kane burdens most of the responsibility in attack for Spurs, and it’s a testament to him that he continue to deliver on such a consistent basis.
The striker has had better luck with injuries this season, something Spurs and England fans will pray continues, and it’s meant he’s been a real driving force for Mourinho’s team.
His return of 16 assists on top of his goals shows his all-round game has improved, so Mourinho deserves some credit.
