Football.London recently reported that RB Leipzig are keen to take Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe on loan again for the coming campaign. The 18-year-old spent the second half of last season with the Bundesliga outfit. However, fitness issues limited his involvement on the pitch.
It is unsurprising that RB Leipzig wish to secure Smith Rowe’s services once again though, as the youngster is regarded as a huge talent. Smith Rowe certainly has vast potential and is amongst the most exciting players to have emerged for the Gunners’ academy in recent years.
Before joining the German outfit on loan, the youngster showed his quality at the Emirates Stadium. He featured regularly in the early part of the Gunners’ Europa League campaign. He notched 3 goals in 6 appearances for Unai Emery’s side before joining RB Leipzig.

Emery is clearly aware of Smith Rowe’s talent. For that reason, the Spanish coach should not allow the teenager to leave the club again this summer. Big stars in the Arsenal squad such as Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are currently badly underperforming. Smith Rowe deserves the chance to compete with these established figures for game time.
He may not be ready to be a regular starter in the Premier League. However, Smith Rowe could certainly feature prominently in other competitions and would gain lots of game time over the course of the campaign.
Emery is seeking to rebuild his side. That process should begin with making Smith Rowe a greater part of his immediate plans.
