Unai Emery eyeing Samuel Chukwueze transfer at Aston Villa
Aston Villa are interested in Samuel Chukwueze, with 90min reporting that Unai Emery is interested in a number of his old players in the January transfer window.
The Villans have confirmed their first signing of the month, with Alex Moreno arriving. And it appears that they are looking to make many more additions before the deadline passes.
Foot Mercato reports that Emery has spoken to Matteo Guendouzi about a potential move. And 90min reports that the former Arsenal player is not the only one Emery knows well that he now wishes to sign.

In fact, he is interested in four Villarreal stars. According to a report from 90min, Pau Torres, Arnaut Danjuma and Nicolas Jackson are admired.
Meanwhile, there is also interest in Chukwueze, who is enjoying a very productive season with the Yellow Submarine.
The 23-year-old has scored seven goals and contributed six assists in all competitions this season. However, he has done most of his best work outside of La Liga, with just one goal and one assist in the top-flight so far.
He has spent his entire professional career at Villarreal. So you would imagine that he would have reservations about leaving, particularly during the middle of the season. But being reunited with Emery may perhaps make a difference.
Chukwueze suggested that Emery was ‘amazing‘ while they were working together. So he may feel that a move to Villa Park may represent a smart one in his career.
Encouragingly, FBRef lists the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Allan Saint-Maximin as similar players. That highlights how Chukwueze will have the potential to get supporters out of their seats.
It will be interesting to see whether Villa do now make a move for the youngster.
