Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet have hammered Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for his World Cup display yesterday, saying his passing was atrocious.
Hojbjerg has been a standout performer for Tottenham and has started in every single game he’s been available for under Antonio Conte this season.
The 27-year-old has even started adding goals to his game, having scored four times and provided four assists in all competitions for Spurs.
But the midfield maestro hasn’t been able to carry his brilliant form into the World Cup and Denmark went crashing out of the tournament yesterday.

The Danes fell to a 1-0 defeat to Australia which sealed their fate and saw them finish at the bottom of the group with just one point.
And the Danish media have slammed Hojbjerg for his display and say his passing was completely off in the opening half an hour.

Ekstra Bladet handed Hojbjerg a one out of six stars rating for his performance and did not hold back on the £15m Spurs man.
The outlet wrote: “Pierre… He was completely beside himself for the first half hour and never hit a teammate.
“If the travelling Danes had to climb the track and turn him half a lap, they probably would. A rare unacceptable performance from one of the national team’s great leaders.”
The Danes were seemingly in control in the first-half and were dominating against Australia. But a poor second-half display has now led to them exiting the World Cup in the group stages.
Hojbjerg certainly wasn’t at his best throughout the tournament and also struggled in Denmark’s goalless draw against Tunisia last week.

The Tottenham man has already played a lot of football this season and he certainly looked off the pace yesterday.
Hojbjerg will be devastated to exit the tournament at such an early stage, especially as Denmark looked like the favourites to qualify behind France in the group beforehand.
But the former Southampton man will now be heading back to north London and will have to turn his attention to Spurs’ preparations for the second-half of the season.
