Umaro Balde suggests he’s ready for Rangers first-team

Umaro Balde has suggested on Twitter that his move to Rangers in the summer was the best thing to ever happen to him, and insisted that he feels that he is ready for the first-team at Ibrox.

Balde was one of the young players signed by the Gers in the summer. He is yet to feature for Steven Gerrard’s side, but he is seemingly optimistic that that could change in the near future.

The former Sporting prospect was asked by a supporter on social media how long it will be until he is in the first-team. And interestingly, the 17-year-old suggested that he believes that he is not that far off being ready to make the step up…

Another fan then asked how much he is enjoying being at Rangers. And that prompted the defensive midfielder to make a big claim regarding his move to Ibrox.

Many Rangers fans would have felt compelled to keep an eye on Balde the moment he arrived at Ibrox. It is an exciting statement to land a player from Sporting’s academy.

Of course, it is incredibly difficult to predict how an academy player will progress. And it would be unfair to draw too many conclusions from the early stages of Balde’s spell.

But he is clearly not lacking in belief in his own ability. Nor however, is he lacking humility after being given the opportunity to come through the ranks at Rangers.
