A number of Brentford fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Ollie Watkins’ admission regarding Arsenal being his dream move, as reported by the Sports Gazette.
The 24-year-old striker has been in sensational form for Thomas Frank’s charges this season, weighing in with 22 goals and three assists to help the Bees up to fifth in the table.
Watkins, currently the second-highest scorer in the Championship behind Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, won the EFL Player of the Year award at the 2019-20 London Football Awards.
After picking up the trophy on Thursday, the former Exeter City man was asked by Sports Gazette reporter Callum Room about what he thought about the prospect of joining Arsenal.

“Yeah, the dream. That’s the dream to play for Arsenal one day”, Watkins replied. “But you know, it’s a long shot.”
As a boyhood Arsenal fan who models his game on Thierry Henry, Watkins saying the Gunners would be a dream move for him seems like a case of stating the obvious.
However, given how well Watkins is doing, combined with the fact Arsenal may well find themselves in the transfer market for strikers this summer in wake of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s uncertain future at the club, it may well end up being more than just a long shot.
Here is how some Brentford fans reacted on social media:
Watkins joined Brentford from Exeter in the summer of 2017 for an undisclosed fee reported by Transfermarkt to be £1.8million, and 129 competitive appearances for the Bees, has claimed 45 goals and 17 goals, according to the stats website.
