Tyler Roberts has told Leeds United’s official website that the atmosphere inside Elland Road during their win over Birmingham City on Saturday was ridiculous as the club celebrated their centenary.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men would have been forgiven for feeling the pressure against the Blues. Leeds had spent much of the week celebrating its 100th birthday, with many of the club’s most legendary players returning to mark the occasion.

It had appeared that Leeds may struggle to round off the celebrations in a fitting manner. Birmingham managed to frustrate the Whites and the game was goalless until the 65th minute.
However, Kalvin Phillips found the back of the net with what proved to be the decisive goal. It was a tense finish, but Leeds managed to see out the game and get back to winning ways.

And after the game, Roberts seemed to suggest that it was one of the most memorable occasions he has been involved in.
“We had a bad result before the international break, so the most important thing was getting back to how we played before that and picking up a win,” he told the club’s official website. “We were very focused on the job we had to do today and we got it done.
“The atmosphere was ridiculous, the fans did an excellent job and everyone behind the scenes did a good job, it was amazing.”
Leeds respond with pressure on
Leeds will hope that they have a number of more important fixtures in the remaining months of the season. But Bielsa’s side can take some belief from the way that they dealt with the occasion.
It was not a perfect performance. And Leeds struggled to close the door on Pep Clotet’s men. But they managed to get the win when the pressure was on. And that should stand the Whites in good stead when they approach big games later on in the campaign.
