Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts admitted after his latest performance that he’s starting to feel fitter again.
Roberts has spent a lot of the season watching on from the sidelines and he’s completed the full 90 minutes in just two of his 15 senior appearances across all competitions.
The 22-year-old has started back-to-back games in the Premier League though, including on Tuesday night in the 3-0 win over Southampton at Elland Road.
He got 75 minutes under his belt and provided an assist with his pass through to teammate Patrick Bamford.
Roberts, who is a senior Wales international, can take great confidence from his opportunities recently under manager Marcelo Bielsa.
The attacker has had to drop down to the Under-23s side at times this campaign to earn minutes, but is getting chances in the first team.
He suggests that his fitness will improve if he keeps getting chances.
“If I can try and keep getting starts I’ll only get stronger. I felt better today and more fit so hopefully I can continue that.” Roberts told LUTV.

TBR’s View:
Roberts was in an out of the Leeds XI in the Championship, so it’s no surprise that he’s fared in the same away this season.
He’s a creative forward player that can drop into a deeper attacking midfielder in the Leeds system and is capable of individual moments of brilliance.
But he’s struggling still to really put a consistent run of performances together and right now he’ll be back on the bench when Rodrigo Moreno returns from injury.
