Tyler Morton has told The Athletic that it is unreal to train alongside players like Thiago Alcantara, insisting that the Liverpool star has an ability to play passes he does not believe are possible.

Morton is currently out on loan with Blackburn Rovers. The 20-year-old has featured in every single Championship game for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men this season. And his form has helped put Rovers right in the promotion mix in the early stages of the campaign.

Of course, Morton’s end goal is to force his way into the Liverpool side in the future. And obviously, one of the players he will be hoping to feature alongside is Thiago.

Tyler Morton praises Thiago

Morton has had a taste of first-team football with the Reds, making nine appearances so far. And he provided an insight into what it is like to work with the senior stars, with Thiago clearly the player who amazed him most.

“It is unreal playing with people like Thiago,” he told The Athletic. “Just training alongside him and seeing the way he moves and his vision and awareness is just second to none. It keeps you on your toes because if you are on his team he is going to play you a pass when even you don’t think it is possible.”

Thiago has been an outstanding signing for Liverpool since his £20 million move. He has come in for some unfair criticism during his time on Merseyside. But there is absolutely no question that he is one of the most gifted midfielders in the world.

Few players in the Premier League have the ability to leave supporters stunned with a moment of sheer quality like the 31-year-old has.

And he is an amazing player for a youngster to learn from.

Not only is he a world-class midfielder, but he has also played for three of the biggest clubs on the planet – as well as a national team which has set the standard on the international stage for many years.

Liverpool will hope that in a few years, it is Morton managing to leave the youngsters absolutely stunned on the training ground with his ability.
