Tyler Adams reacts to Brenden Aaronson having better pace on FIFA
Adams has made a superb start to life at Elland Road. Of course, he was under a fair amount of pressure upon his arrival. The USMNT international came in as Kalvin Phillips was heading out of the exit.
But Adams has dealt with the expectations. He has formed a superb partnership with Marc Roca in the middle of the park. And he has been one of the standout performers for Jesse Marsch’s side.
Aaronson is never outrunning Adams
Another who has shone is Aaronson. Obviously, the two were already international teammates. And it appears that Leeds will hope that the pair are in the ranks for some time.
Adams himself, expressed his delight at getting the chance to play alongside the attacking midfielder week-in, week-out.
However, Adams was not best pleased when learning that Aaronson had been given a higher rating for his pace on FIFA. He joked that only one is going to win a race between the two of them.
“Me and Brenden are obviously really close. Our chemistry on the field speaks for itself. We feel like we play well together. But we’ve been friends off the field for quite a while,” he told the Premier League YouTube channel.
“Pace is criminal, to say Brenden is faster than me. If you watch any game, he’s never outrunning me. That’s just not happening.
“To be fair, if there’s two people who can keep up with each other, it’s me and him.”
Adams and Aaronson are going to need to be at the top of their games when the Premier League campaign resumes.
Leeds struggled after a very bright start. And they have some incredibly tough fixtures coming up.
Adams does so much important work in front of the backline. Meanwhile, with Leeds having real issues up front, Aaronson’s ability to make things happen behind the striker could be extremely valuable.
Adams will likely be quite happy if he goes under the radar while Aaronson steals many of the headlines, as long as it means that Leeds get back on track.
