Tyler Adams is unlikely to leave Leeds for Manchester United - journalist

Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is unlikely to join Manchester United.

The American joined the Whites from RB Leipzig for around £20 million (Sky Sports) in the summer. He replaced Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park, and he has been magnificent since. That, unsurprisingly, has resulted in numerous transfer rumours.

Tyler Adams is unlikely to leave Leeds for Manchester United

Adams has caught many people’s eye after a fantastic start to life in England. He has been really impressive, so much so that he has quite a few admirers at rival clubs.

TeamTalk revealed a couple of days ago that Adams has been “attracting admiring glances” from Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag, who is apparently keen on bolstering his options in midfield.

The outlet, however, played down all the rumours, claiming that the Red Devils’ “priorities currently lie elsewhere.”

Jones has backed that claim and revealed that Adams absolutely loves Leeds fans. He believes the midfielder will be at Elland Road as long as Jesse Marsch is at the helm and a that a move to Manchester United is very, very unlikely.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think that the chances of him joining United and leaving Leeds are very, very small. I think that all the time that Jesse Marsch is at Leeds, Tyler Adams will be at Leeds.

“I know he really appreciated the platform; he thinks it’s a good club for him, he really loves the fan base, and the fans love him.”

If any of you Leeds fans were concerned, you can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Adams really has been an excellent signing for the Whites. He has played 11 times for Leeds in all competitions and although Marsch’s side hasn’t quite gotten the results they’ve wanted on most occasions, the American has caught the eye.

Adams has averaged 73 touches, 1.3 key passes per game and creates one big chance every 90 minutes. He also averages four tackles every game, which is a stunning return for a defensive midfielder. (SofaScore)

Leeds fans absolutely adored Kalvin Phillips during his time at the club. Adams is not quite the same player as the Englishman, but he has settled in really nicely, and he’ll get even better in the coming months.
