Pundit Paul Merson thinks that Sadio Mane and Mo Salah will be fit and fresh in today’s FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Manchester City.
Liverpool’s passage to the last four of the Champions League was smoother than City’s in midweek, with much of the heavy lifting against Benfica done in the first leg.
Pep Guardiola’s men had a battle with Atletico Madrid and Paul Merson thinks that could have an impact at Wembley today.

“I just think if you look at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane got a rest against Benfica at Anfield on Wednesday, just having a gentle run-out at the end when the tie was already won,” he said.
“You’d like to think those two will be on fire this weekend now, and that could be the difference. The two of them can majorly hurt City.
“If Liverpool won by a two or three-goal margin they could ride the wave all the way to becoming European champions. After all, they have done it before.”

It has been an intense week for both sides and this will be another tough afternoon as the quadruple or the treble will go off the cards.
The winner here could get a big boost in the race for trophies as the business end of the season shows no sign of slowing down.
Whether the midweek results will have an impact on today’s game remains to be seen but it looks set to be another epic battle.
